We're Two People Building Something Useful for Small Firms

Founder-led. Small on purpose. Based in Oakland, California.

CaseBuddy is built by Ronen Raz and Lia Barrow — a husband-and-wife team operating as 1R2B LLC, based in Oakland, California. Between us, we've spent three decades building tech products and two decades in community organizing and nonprofit leadership. This is the project we chose to build together.

There's no venture fund, no boardroom, no “head of growth.” Just us, a real problem we understand well, and a product we've built carefully. If you're considering giving us your firm's intake, you should know exactly who you're trusting — which is why this page exists.

The Founders

Ronen Raz

Ronen Raz

Co-founder & CEO

Ronen Raz is a serial tech entrepreneur with three decades of experience building internet products. He co-founded CorkyNet in 1995 and ironSource in 2012, and has since led or advised ventures across digital health, quantum computing, and adtech. The work has spanned multiple technology cycles and industries, but the interest has remained the same: making complex systems simple enough that regular people get value from them without needing to understand them. His current focus is applied AI, and he serves as co-founder and CEO of 1R2B — the LLC behind CaseBuddy, which he's building alongside Lia.

Lia Barrow

Co-founder & COO

Lia Barrow is an Oakland-based community builder and board leader with experience spanning governance, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurship. She serves as a Board Director of The Mosaic Project and sits on the board of Kehilla Community Synagogue, with a longer arc of work across education, family support, and community health. With Ronen Raz, she co-built JustCoz — a platform turning social-media action into charitable giving — and later launched HaMotzi Gluten Free, a pandemic-era kosher challah delivery service for the East Bay Jewish community. Across every role, her focus is consistent: building the relationships and systems that make communities work.

Why We Built This

Small law firms spend thousands a month on marketing to drive website visitors. Most of those visitors hit a static contact form and bounce. The ones who fill it out leave a name, a phone number, and a line like “I need a lawyer.” Someone on the firm's team — usually the attorney — then spends time chasing details, filtering junk, and calling back during business hours. Many of those callbacks go to voicemail.

There are virtual receptionist services that solve part of this, but they cost more than most small firms can justify, and they can't screen cases or extract structured details.

We started CaseBuddy because we saw the gap. A well-designed conversation, available 24/7, that gathers what a firm actually needs to decide if a case is worth a callback — that's a better experience for the visitor and a much better use of an attorney's time.

We're Early. Here's Why That's Good for You.

CaseBuddy is new. We don't have fifty logos on our homepage, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. We're looking for a small group of founding customers — firms willing to be early, in exchange for something bigger firms can't offer.

What founding customers get:

  • A direct line to Ronen. Not a ticketing system. Not a chatbot. If something's broken, you text or email Ronen, and he fixes it.
  • Pricing locked in. The rate you sign up at stays your rate for as long as you're a customer.
  • Your feature requests go to the top of the list. We're actively shaping the product. If something would make CaseBuddy materially better for your firm, we want to hear it.
  • Concierge onboarding. We'll set up your agent, tune the questions to your practice area, and work with you until it's generating the kind of case summaries you actually want to read.

If that sounds useful, book a call. We'll show you the product and talk through whether it fits.

What We Care About

Accessibility

Every small firm should be able to compete with bigger ones on client experience. Intake is one place where the playing field can actually be leveled.

Attorney Time

Attorneys shouldn't spend their days on cold intake calls. We built CaseBuddy so the work that reaches your desk is work worth doing.

Trust

Legal conversations are sensitive. We treat every interaction with the same confidentiality and care attorneys provide their clients.
